Caring For Silver Jewellery

Sterling silver is a precious metal and as a result of its composition your silver jewellery may tarnish gradually over time. Tarnishing is a natural process that is caused when sterling silver is exposed to humidity and chemicals such as hydrogen sulphide in the air. To minimise the speed of this process we advise you to do the following:

• Remove jewellery when bathing, showering or swimming as water and chemicals (especially chlorine) can encourage silver to tarnish.

• Chemicals in make-up, hair spray, perfume and moisturisers can also affect the beauty and shine of your jewellery, so apply these first and allow them to dry before wearing your jewellery.

• Remove jewellery when sleeping, doing household tasks such as cleaning, playing sport and excercising or other strenuous activities since jewellery may become tangled, scratched or harmed by sharp blows.

• Do not wear your jewellery whilst on the beach or sunbathing since extreme temperatures and strong UV rays can cause gemstones to fade in colour and lose their original beauty, whilst sand can damage the silver surface.

As with all fine things in life, you should take care to protect your jewellery and always store in the box or pouch provided.

 

Cleaning Silver Jewellery

Jewellery that is comprised of just silver without gold plating or stones can be cleaned with bicarbonate of soda, boiling water and tin foil, rubbed with a silver polishing cloth or dipped in silver dip. These are all effective and easy methods of bringing a bright finish back to your jewellery. Please contact us for further advice.

Orders will be sent via Royal Mail Tracked Delivery or via Royal Mail Special Delivery for higher value orders (which both require a signature on delivery) and should usually arrive at UK destinations within 3 working days of posting.

Returns policy

We will be happy to offer an exchange or a full refund for items purchased through our online store; providing the unwanted item is returned to us within 28 days of purchase, is returned together with all packaging originally supplied and is in perfect saleable condition.

Please note: The outgoing delivery charge is not included in the exchange or refund value of the unwanted item and the buyer must cover the return delivery charge where an item is returned.
